Statement

Fragments of an unfathomable world
Verónica González Ugarte
I remember the mangroves, the vines, the figures and the interconnected lines. The trees and roots intertwined, growing one inside the other, on top of each other, around the other. A constant growth, peaceful but never calm. Aerial, superficial roots, buried in water.
The jungle is a network, a great root composed of all its elements. They hug, they get tangled... it is difficult to isolate the fragments. This intimate interconnection of elements is the basis of my work.
It all starts organically, depending on what happens along the way. Monocopies, photographic records, painting, engraving, texts and drawings are articulated and mixed. They are relationships built based on the experience lived in the places visited, the research carried out for several years in various natural landscapes of the world and my own sensations, selectively observed through my gaze.
Imagining drawings, translating the landscape into a graphic representation supported by the memory of the photographic image is part of my interest. My work is a journey through nature, through its multiple forms, through an infinite range of greens, with the particular gaze of an artist. The use of different languages tells us about the singular and the multiple, about doing, repetition, time, subtlety and strength,
all qualities present in nature.
I seek to expand the space, to spread what is experienced as an energetic manifestation of a thought. Nature has mobilized and we have humanized it. The ecosystem and its living beings have acquired a new form, a new language and meaning. An explosion within us and in the natural world, a new search and reality.
Observe the natural kingdom and take it to the universe of visual forms, investigating the possibilities of its forms and their natural meaning. Everything is alive, everything moves, crawls, moves, everything merges into one and with the environment.
